LEONARD R. JANIS D.P.M.



Dr. Janis is residency trained and Board Certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.  His extensive experience with ankle joint surgery includes:

               • Total Ankle Replacement
               • Ankle Stabilization
               • Ankle Arthroscopy
               • Ankle Fusion
               • Ankle Fractures

Dr. Janis has been in private practice since 1973. Dr. Janis is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American College of Podopediatrics, and a member of the American College of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at The Ohio State University, a member of the Ohio Podiatry Institute, and teaches foot and ankle surgery at the Bone and Joint Center at Grant Medical Center.

As a leader in the of field of Podopediatrics and Total Ankle Replacements (TAR), Dr. Janis has taught as an Associate Clinical Professor of Biomechanics and Orthopedics at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He has served as Director of Residency Training and Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at several hospitals including Grant Medical Center and Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association and has been its Scientific Coordinator. He lectures extensively and has authored a book entitled, "What Parents Should Know About Their Children's Feet."   He has been the guest editor of an edition of Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and has authored or co-authored numerous articles in medical journals regarding foot and ankle surgery.
